The Rev. Kevin P. VonGonten received his education at St. Francis College, Brooklyn, NY, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies; Fordham University, Bronx, NY, earning a Master’s Degree in Historical Theology; and The General Theological Seminary, New York, NY, earning a second Master’s Degree in Liturgy. He has served various Episcopal churches in Brooklyn, NY; New York City; Parsippany, NJ; Port Washington, NY; Stony Brook, NY; Garden City, NY; and Center Moriches, NY.
He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and was employed in the Retail and Wholesale photo equipment field, and was also a part time commercial photographer prior to answering the call to Ordained Ministry. He was also an Adjunct Professor of Theology at St. Francis College while pursuing his degree at General. Following Ordination, he was Professor of Liturgical Studies at the George Mercer School of Theology in the Diocese of Long Island.
Kevin accepted his current position as Priest in Charge of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in 2015. He and his wife, Christine, have lived in Delaware for more than a few years. Prior to his service at St. Paul’s, Fr. Kevin served as supply clergy to the Delaware Diocese at parishes in Wilmington and Selbyville. They came to Delaware from the Diocese of Long Island.
